Love in Glacier National | Hallmark Channel Movie Review

Welcome to Love in Glacier National: A National Park Romance. I’m assuming by the title that they’re planning a series of national park romances. Not sure if I’m happy about that or not. 😜

Hallmark’s Synopsis

“An avalanche forecasting expert brings her new technology to Glacier National Park where she faces push-back from the Director of Mountain Rescue who’s trained in intuition and common sense.”

⭐⭐

Well, let’s start with what I liked: The snow. The dogs. One star for each.

So… um… were we supposed to like this guy? He was a total jackhole! The entire time! Yet she kept getting googly eyed over him knowing that he wasn’t supportive of her life’s work. At least she finally called him out on the disrespect, but even when we got the reason out of him (which came as a shock to nobody), it still made no sense as a reason that he wouldn’t be on board with incorporating the forecasting tool into his job.

Also, why would her friend not have told her about the wife? He warned her that the guy wasn’t gonna be on board, but didn’t think to tell her why. And then he acts surprised that she didn’t know. HOW WOULD SHE HAVE KNOWN???

Every single Sonya scene was weird and awkward and cringe. As well as the one where the daughter tells her what’s what. 🥴 (no shade intended to the actresses, they were great)

Also! Having friends who went through infertility, I’m pretty sure if it was your third/last round of IVF you’d be overly cautious during the two week wait which would mean no massages, hot tubs, or saunas. Right? And there was no discussion between the sisters about the negative test, so what was the point of that storyline? We watched her suffer alone and then pretend everything was okay? WTAF?!

The avalanche stuff was interesting, but this just moved so slow. A couple times I went to fast forward through commercials I was shocked to see how much movie was still left to go.

I really hope that future national park romance movies actually use or reference the national park they’re naming the movie after. This was not filmed in Glacier, and they kept referencing Fernie which is a mountain in Canada. Why didn’t they just name it Finding Love on Fernie? We all know these are filmed in Canada and we don’t care, we embrace the Canada of it all. 🤷‍♀️

I hate saying this about the one winter movie we finally got, but this was a giant miss for me. If you liked it, I’m really happy for you, but please tell me what exactly you liked about it. 🙃

What did you think of Love in Glacier National?

xoxo,
Sarah
