Woof. This was ruff. 🙃
I’m sorry, I just could not get into this one. It took me three tries to make it through the whole movie. I don’t know why, and I think it was more my fault than the movie’s, which is why I landed in the middle at 3 stars. 🤷♀️
• The acting was okay.
• The story was lackluster.
• The family issues were not needed, and not explored enough to make me care about it. Was their mom ever even mentioned?
• Loved Eliza King, but Chloe was not likeable which made me wonder why the heck he was even chasing her, so I found it unbelievable. She got likeable at the end, in that amazing outfit, but that felt like a totally different character. The “As if!” text cracked me up though.
• What kind of pet parent falls asleep during an emergency trip to the Vet?
• How many times is she going to walk home? Is this town one square mile?
• This was filmed in St. John which is in the NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR province of Canada. No, I’m not joking. Yes, I want to visit.
• Never thought I’d hear “basic Goop aesthetic”, “cleanse culture” or “hump the leg” in a Hallmark movie, but I’m not complaining.
• The dogs were h*ckin adorable, one star for each! If any of them have IG accounts, tag me!!
